Completed: Omega Race 2009

Yes, after 3½ week I’ve finally finished Omega Race 2009.

I think it turned out even better than I’d hoped for and I hope you will all enjoy it too.

Please give me some feedback and tell me what you think of it – is it too easy, too hard, too shiny, too pretty or too-something-else?

Update: May 22th 2009. Just 12 hours after original release I’ve updated to v1.1. This version is a lot easier.
If you have already downloaded the game then download it again if you want it to be less challenging.
I’m also working on a version 1.2. This will appear soon and have many more tweaks and features.

It’s been a fun little distraction from Psycho Pigs UXB, which I’ve been working on for 3 months now, but now it’s time to continue working on that game.

YEAH!!!…3 games completed!

Wow, this feels pretty good. I don’t have to biggest output of games – one, perhaps two games a year, and now I’ve made 3 games in 3 months and that’s pretty impressive if I must say so myself…and I do feel pretty proud of having produced 3 pretty solid new retro remakes in such a short time…
…but how do YOU feel about them?…let me know by leaving a comment on their respective pages.

The 3 games are of course made for the Retro Remakes 2008 Big Competition (go there if you don’t know what it is) and the 3 games, Zektor, Space Fury & Dingo are NOW available from their respective pages which is found in the menu above, or by clicking the links above.

Special thanks goes to: Oddbob, InfamousUK & Rich Douglas who all contributed to the audio part of the games.

You’re welcome to leave any questions or remarks about the games. Just do it here. 🙂

It’s been a busy 3 months but now I can finally take some time off to go on vacation and that’s exactly what I’ll do. Later today I’ll hop on a plane and go backpacking in asia for 7 weeks.

You have completed Zektor one…

YES!…I finished Zektor a couple of days ago. The game itself is 100% finished and all that’s missing is some music, but there’s still 2 months left of the competition so I hope can find someone who will compose something for me.

The game is not available for download yet…but will be soon.

Over the last couple of days I’ve prototyped 3-4 games, hoping one or more of my ideas could become a possible third remake for the competition. So far the answer is ‘no‘ though. One was too simple, one would have been too boring visually, one didn’t really work as well as I’d thought, and the final game requires too many graphical ressources for me to be able to do it in such a short time (but I still hope to do it some day).

Luckily I already know what my next game will be – it will be a remake of Space Fury which is by the same developers that made Zektor, so I still have a little more time before having to decide what to do after that game.
This weekend I will take the Zektor source code, strip it down, and start building Space Fury around it.
Stay tunes for updates.

A little Zektor update.

Fingers are tapping away at the keyboard and things are happening.
Here’s a small preview of the menu which is complete.
Still a lot missing on the game itself.
