Finished: The Night Before Christmas

Just three days later than I’d hoped for (but at least still before Christmas ;)) I’m happy to present my latest game called ‘The Night Before Christmas‘.

It’s not a remake but instead an original game inspired by several retrogames – especially  ‘Elevator Action‘…although it plays quite differently. It’s what I call ‘a quickie’ so development has only taken a little under a month, but it’s really festive and I hope you will find it fun to play. It starts pretty easy, but soon becomes very frantic.

Download it here, or click here to read more about the game and how it’s played.

The Night Before Christmas – delayed…but still on time.

Yes, as you may have noticed december 20th came and went with no sighting of my new Christmas themed game. 🙁

It’s been a bit delayed because of one part of the game that gave me a bit of trouble, as well as not being able to find quite as much time to spend on it as I’d hope for. It’s a new game made from scratch, with a total development time of less than a month, and that’s not much time so any little delay can mean a missed deadline.

Anyway, I’ve solved the big problem I had and is now hard at work fixing the remaining small things that needs fixing.

Ironically enough it could end up being released ‘The Night Before Christmas‘ – but definitely sometime later this week – let’s see how it goes. 🙂

New game: The Night Before Christmas

Here’s a little preview of a game I’m working on.
…all things considered I think I can safely say that this will be my next game.

As you may have guessed from the title it’s a Christmas game. I wasn’t going to do one again this year, but suddenly I had an idea and I began work on it two weeks ago. A bit late – it’ll be tight, but I’m aiming for a december 20th (ish) release.

I looks a bit like Mission Elevator, and that is exactly where my inspiration comes from, and it will (hopefully) be frantic retro-action, but it’s an original game and plays nothing like Mission Elevator…well, except for having to use the elevator to go between floors..but that’s it.

Currently I have a placeholder page for the game under ‘Works in Progress’, but once the game is finished it will move to the ‘Completed Games’ section.

Here’s a preview. Click it to see the full picture.

Festive retro action.

Website update.

I’ve been meaning to update the look of my site for a while now and I’ve finally found a theme that is both pleasant to look at and isn’t too different from the old one. So, may I present: The new Tardis Remakes website. Tadahh! 🙂

For a while (don’t know how long though) I’ve had a problem with the site that meant not everyone could access it (not related to the change of theme). The problem is solved now and the site will no longer block visitors. I think it was a plugin I used, that banned certain IP adresses from posting, which I used to keep the worst spammers out, but unfortunately it seems it kept innocent people out too. Oops.

That means that for the past month I’ve been getting a lot more spam than I’m used to (which Akismet does catch…but still) so now I’ve changed it so you have to sign up if you want to post a comment. Annoying, yes, but perhaps I will keep some of the spammers out and that would make me a happier person.

Death to all spammers!..may you all die violent and painfully!

On a more positive note I’m happy to say that work is progressing nicely on Neon Invasion Earth. Funny how ones plans can get all out of whack all of a sudden. This was just a little fun throaway idea that was supposed to be finished in two weeks, but now it’s been 4½ months. *sigh*

…it should be finished before the end of this year though. 😉
